I know I should not be posting during office hours, but this came to mind suddenly and I am afraid I would forget about it.
I was cutting my hair yesterday at Centrepoint when I caught this familar yet not-so-familar introduction to a song playing in the background. It starts with a slightly faster version of Jason Mraz's I'm Yours. Then before I know it, I heard Howie Day's Collide with I'm Yours music accompaniment. And then, it becomes I'm yours and collide just mashup together. All of sudden, songs like Superman (Five for Fighting), Always Getting Over You (Angela Ammons), All That I Need (Boyzone), and Here Without You (3 Doors Down), join in the fun.
I did a quick google check online, and realised it's a mashup done by Norwegian Recycling, and he quite a few collections of other mashups. I haven't really heard the rest yet. Will listen to them when I get home. I only have downloaded the one I heard yesterday and it's called When Six Songs Collide. You can hear the song from here.
I know I haven't updated since a million and one years ago, but I just have to post this. As many know, I am a fan of American Idol, but there aren't any singers recently who made me sit up and listen, until David Archuleta. He is only 17 years old. He has the looks, the voice, the appeal, basically the whole package. And I think he is the only one who had the audience screaming all the way even before he went on stage to sing.
This is only the Hollywood week to choose the top 12. Just before you click play on the video, the surrounding should be quiet, make sure your speakers are volumed up, or plug in your earphones.
Hehe, trying to be poetic here. Maybe I can find a tune to the lyrics. But I guess the words are too few. Maybe next time I can add in to the existing lyrics.
I heard this song from YES 933 on my way to school yesterday. It's the typical aspiring, full of hope song sang by the top 10 finalists from 超級星光大道. Since they are only 2 guys in the top 10, their voices are definitely easily recognized from the other 8 gals. From this song, we can hear whose voice is more distinctive than the others, which is actually an important factor if a singer wants to survive in the music industry. Besides having a unique voice, the person's style is also very important. Anyway, I was trying to identify the voices yesterday and the voices I think that are rather distinctive are voices of 梁文音 (my current fav), 林宜融, 黃美珍, 魏如昀. The others I have to take quite some time before identifying who they are. In the MTV, 林宜融 looks very good. She might not be the prettiest from the lot, but I admire her determination and effort she put in during the competition.
